Classic Waterfront Boaters Paradise w/Pool & Pontoon Boat

We had an awesome time at the property, would recommend!

The good part first: the house is charming and well air-conditioned, lots of areas to gather with family. Pool is great. Unfortunately the host went absolutely no contact after the first day. The trash outside had not been picked up for at least a week when we arrived, probably two, and was swarming with flies and maggots. No answer on if it was going to be picked up, what we should do about it. Raccoons got into the old trash and spread it around the property, which we picked up ourselves to spare the neighbors but man, that was disgusting. I attempted to contact Mark on the VRBO app, text messages and calls multiple times but nothing for the full four days (even though his voicemail was active). We ended up buying industrial size contractor bags and keeping our garbage in there indoors. We made the call to leave them in the air conditioned house so the animals wouldn't get at them again, but this has been such a frustrating and not trustworthy experience that I'm frankly worried we're going to get some kind of penalty for not following checkout directions. It's a bummer because the property really is nice and unique. But with a family reunion, trash piling up and no ability to communicate for our whole trip really put a damper on it for the whole group.

We arrived early on a Sunday. We text and asked if we could enter the house early. No response. When we did get in at 3:00 there were puddles of water all over kitchen in the big house. We sent a text with pics to the number they gave us and no response. The air conditioning was not working on the lower level of the big house. We messaged on VRBO, text and tried to call them. Again no response. We had to shift people around so nobody was sleeping on the lower lever in that heat. Monday I got an auto message on VRBO asking about our stay and if I had any questions. I again told them about the A/C not working. Finally got a response that someone would be there that day. Seems like the small house has a termite issue. It rained very heavy one night, water was coming in the lower bathroom of the big house and it smelled like sewage. Once we got the hiccups straightened out, we had a blast. We had 17 people in total and there was plenty of space for everyone. We did feel like for the amount we paid, it could have been a little cleaner and updated. There was confetti and a mylar ballon from another groups stay. Some of the kitchen cabinets were wonky and broken. We are a pretty low key adaptable group, so we just rolled with it. Overall the space fit our large group very well. The location was great as we have family right up the road. The dock was a favorite for our kids to fish and the pool was large enough for everyone to swim.

We had a good time. Good setting and perfect weather

We had 16 guys stay at the house and all fit comfortably. The communication was great, easy check in and check out process. Location is solid in convenience to downtown Tampa where we went to a hockey game and Bern’s for dinner. The neighborhood could be a little nicer but the house makes up for it.
